When it comes to eyeshadow trends, colorblocked eyeshadow is one of our favorite looks of the season. Not only is it easy to create (with minimal blending required!), it’s also fun, playful, and, as its name suggests, colorful. Ahead, we’re sharing a few of our favorite looks you to recreate at home.
Go For A Rainbow Look
A rainbow colorblocked eyeshadow look that incorporates multiple colors can be stunning. Just don’t forget to use an primer to make a gorgeous look like this stick — we recommend Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
Colourblocked And Complementary eyeshadow
Complementary colors can be the perfect way to get a contrasting, bold look with your color blocked eyeshadow. Simply select your two opposite shades from the color wheel and tap them onto your lid. For super pigmented eyeshadows of every hue, check out the NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Color Palette in Brights.
One For Each Eye
For a fun experiment take truly block it out by putting a different color on each eye. Matcha and Macaroon are perfect for achieving this look.
Playful Pastels
Get your pastel eyeshadows ready. We love this cut crease look, which puts pastels alongside a black wing. To tie the look together, finish with a pigmented black mascara, like the one in Blackest Black.
Add Some Glitter with eyeshadow
Put one bright colour on each eye, followed by some graphic liner in the contrasting colour. Apply some glitter carefully below your undereyes to make the look pop.
Mix and Match
Use the same pigment on the lower lash line of one eye and the lid of the other to take colorblocked eyeshadow to the next level. You only need to take a cue from this green and blue ensemble.
Pink and Purple
Choose a traditional colour combination for your colorblocked eyeshadow look, such as pink and purple. The double-wing effect is fantastic.
